Probationary driving license
A probationary license is issued to a person who passes the driving test for the first time in categories A1, A2, A, B1 or B.
How long it lasts
- Two years, if the test was passed at age 19 or older.
- Until age 21, if the test was passed before age 19.
- One year (category B only) for students of vocational secondary schools for motor vehicle drivers who have passed the C or CE test.
After it expires
If you pass a test for another category after the probationary license has expired, a regular driving license is issued.
Where to apply
The request goes to the MUP territorial unit for your place of residence. If you have been away from your residence for more than three months for work, study or other valid reasons, you can apply where you are staying.
